Michael Collins, Founding Partner and Editor-in-Chief

Michael Collins

has nearly two decades of experience covering business, technology and healthcare. He has served as editor, consultant and content developer for financial, healthcare and general interest consumer publications and Web sites, and worked as a producer for local, syndicated and national television news. For five years he wrote a regular column on investor issues for CBS MarketWatch. Mr. Collins began his journalism career at United Press International as a reporter and editor in the United States. He was sent to Moscow in 1990 to cover the changes in the Soviet economic system and the emerging businesses of perestroika. Mr. Collins later served as London bureau chief and senior correspondent in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for UPI, before moving to Worldwide Television News as a senior producer. He contributed to Exchange Traded Funds: An Insiders Guide to Buying the Market (John Wiley & Sons, spring 2002).

 
 

 
 

Creative Director

Nancy Cutler

has 20 years of design experience in New York and the San Francisco Bay Area. She has led design teams for trade and consumer publications, in print and on the Web; designed book covers; and created corporate identity and logo systems. She has served as a creative director for a number of Bay Area publishing companies. Ms. Cutler’s work has been recognized by the Western Publishers’ Association, Society of Publication Designers, Communication Arts, and the Society of Illustrators. She is a returning member of the design faculty of the Stanford Professional Publishing Course and teaches several courses at the University of California Berkeley Extension.

 
 

 
 

Chief Copy Editor and Writer

Amelia Glynn

has been writing about healthcare and technology for both journalistic and marketing purposes for more than 13 years. She has produced web content, case studies, white papers, brochures and other marketing materials for Kaiser Permanente, Cisco Systems, St. Mary's Medical Center and many others, in addition to writing for iQ Magazine and The Boston Women's Health Book Collective (publishers of Our Bodies,Ourselves). Previously, she was a Senior Account Associate at Phase Two Strategies and a public affairs consultant for Issue Dynamics.

 

Art Director

Cynthia Colzani

is a veteran graphic designer and accomplished illustrator with more than a decade of experience. She has designed everything from financial graphs and charts to national magazines, catalogues, ads, theatre bills and marketing brochures. She was previously a senior studio artist at 360 Group and senior production artist at Haggin Group. Her clients have included Barclay's Plc, Futuredex, Hallmark, Playboy, Discovery/Nature Company and Beringer Vineyards She holds a bachelor's degree in fine arts from San Francisco State University and an associate degree in graphic design from City College of San Francisco. She was also a principal illustrator for a direct mail project which won the prestigious Addy award.


Director of Quantitative and Market Research

Tavis Perez

is an expert at spotting trends, plotting them, and presenting them graphically for IAB clients. He can find the right target audience for a technology newsletter, chart the success rate of a publication, or create a new financial index from scratch. Mr. Perez holds a masters degree in Computational Finance from the Oregon Graduate Institute, and bachelor degrees from the University of Colorado in Mathematics and Economics.
